A ceremony with a reading from his memoirs was held at the Halberstadt campus to celebrate Karl Oppermann’s anniversary, and simultaneously the exhibition of his current work “Project Blocksberg” was opened.
“For decades in his art, Karl Oppermann has pursued a humane mission. It can also be said that he is fundamentally a humanist, who places people at the center of his contemplation. And against this backdrop, in his work, he is a unique chronicler of our time, especially regarding themes of flight, displacement, migration,“ said Prof. Dr. Armin Willingmann, Minister for Economics, Science, and Digitization of the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
Due to the pandemic, no live audience was allowed, but the film compilation can be viewed here and on the Harz University YouTube channel.
